Depth of Peace

There is a depth
beyond the ripples
still and caressing

And even when the tides
or ungracious storms
collide rambunctiously

The peace
below the surface pervades

Continues to envelope any
who descend there…

Shining Center

Though overcast and grey
the sun shines brightly
above the clouds

Ever shining, ever loving
energizing our bones

Shining, also, in our center
where no clouds reside

Color Me Brightly

The sculptures in my masters thesis show were like this – assemblages of various thoughts and experiences, textures and approaches. This sketch was from that time too – or earlier or later, I don’t recall. To me any day in my life is like that – a little of this and little of that. I thought this a bit bright and cheerful for a bright and cheerful day.

Won’t You Join Me?

Today’s image is a digital rehash of one of my paintings – layered and enhanced. I started to post my Daily Napkin, and it seemed like it needed an illustration (They usually would benefit from an image, in my opinion, however, I don’t always have time).  I started mining my scanned images and photographs to create the perfect image, when I was reminded of this one (Called Moondancer). I think it bears repeating.

Cosmic Dance

Dance with me
in the Cosmic Dance!

Let’s let our hair fly
as the moon and stars
swirl with us

In celebration of the
absolute joy of it all!

Big Dance

Woodpecker taps
making rhythms in his head

Cricket chirps
keeping love’s time
with his legs

Listen to the heartbeat
Love’s rhythm is for dancing
in the Big Dance
Did You?

Did You?

Me Neither

Did You?

Have you ever played with mono printing? It is great fun. Short description: you spread ink out on a plexiglass sheet, play with it with stylus, rubberstamps, your fingers, a brush, until you get an image you want, lay the paper down on it and press it with a brayer, and pull the paper.

This fella appeared after just such a session.

Toomany!

Too many times
she said “Yes”

When she would have
served better saying “No”

Too many things to do
too many things
Toomany!
