Year One
In the clouds
the mists swirling
happy, holy spirits
dance with sweet abandon…

Daily Napkin for Monday, December 21, 2009
Year Three
She opened one
petal at a time,
blossoming into the
sunlight of her soul,
drinking in the nectar
of love’s sweet presence…

Upon the whispering of the words
the story came alive
delciate gossamer threads
woven to epic proportions
mountains of granite and snow
from simple mounds
stacked one piece upon another
by mole or beaver or even ant
excitement arose in the glint of the eye
the wave of the hand
the painting of the scenery
the telling of the tale
Daily Napkin for Wednesday, December 16, 2009
Life's adjustments —
as snake sheds skin —
as frog becomes frog
from pollywog —
as chameleon changes
colors to fit —
so, too, challenges and
breakthroughs seek
new homeostasis
Daily Napkin for Tuesday, December 14, 2009
Sitting in silence
by the river of life
much excitement
floating past
and still I seek
unseen guidance
the subtle journey
without
within
Daily Napkin for Monday, December 14, 2009
Simmering beliefs
bubble up familiar
experiences and situations
Remember the spring
as winter hastens…
the blossoming and budding
emerges from dead brown stems
simmer then the sweet,
the fragrance of applesauce
lingers — just a suggestion
Year two – Soaring
year one – silence
Silence is
an important part
of communication
as you listen to
the space between
the moments
Daily Napkin for Tuesday, December 8 , 2009 (bonus)
As I release preconceptions
and blend into the moment
every sound awakes my senses
and my edges soften
Hear the frogs, the crickets chirping
the man whistling to the birds
feel the warmth arising
stillness wafts throughout
No longer held back by the words
eternal peace in every moment
rising joy kisses my heart
Daily Napkin for Tuesday, December 8, 2009
Before dawn, before the birds
in the dark, the smell of sage
burning sage, a wakeup call
and so we gathered
'round the fire to dance
to sing the world awake
We tatooed Earth with our feet
steady footsteps to the drum
sang each bird, each 4 legged,
every one awake and honored
and then the Sun
And gave thanks for the new day
