Faith

Else, ever seeking without end
ever gathering things of men
ever groping in darkness then

Should I not awaken
from slumber’s dream
release the illusion
of what life seems

…So, I step out on faith
with love-filled heart, I lift my eyes
enter the peace with silent sighs
of blessed grace

Inspiration

From whence, inspiration?
Breathe in and open with prayer
Breathe out and out it flows
—————————————-
Every part of creation
breathes and bathes and is
part of creation

Blessed by the presence of Divine
unmistakably filled,
surrounded by grace

Today

today
not long ago
I was reminded
of the peace that lurks
within the joyous heart
and in this moment
this now I still am
joy and peace
co-mingle
right now

The Sea

Endlessly the waves
reached up on the edge
to splash against the shore
—————————————-
Mantra of the sea
carries my spirit

Samadhi waves
deliver sea shells
to my doorstep
——————————————
And all the while
dolphins greet me
in their friendly fashion

Grateful Morning

“Good morning!”, she said with exuberance
“Thank goodness for this brand new day!”

And all the stars sang back
and the sun sent her extra love
and the flowers awoke
in a burst of new morning fragrance

“It is a good day to be alive!”

Foxes

Baby foxes trotting down
the road

Mischievious and playful
little tongues lolling

They bat each other in play
and roll in the sweet
aroma of redwood needles
and fox gaiety.

Woof!

Promise Kept

The promise kept
in word and deed
like a tiny seed germinates

Sends out roots and shoots
to grow and flourish
———————————-
I promised myself
in heartfelt earnest
and set about
fulfilling it

Joy grows in me

The Meadow

Over in the meadow
where the horses play
and those tiny yellow blossoms
bloom like wildfire

The verdant earth
and the turquoise sky
all join forces to provide
a visceral feast for my eyes

Ah! Life is rich!

Happy Birthday to all!

Everyday’s a birthday!

Let’s celebrate our birthday today —
how many days?

Each day a new gift
of life, of love, of light
of experience,of drama
and excitement, of joy
and sorrow…

Happy Birthday to all!

The Belly of the Bush

From my window, I see
into the belly of the bush
grown through the years
far taller than my dwelling
——————————————–
That blue tinged bird
in the belly of the bush
eats right there near my kitchen

In the spot where squirrels
frolic or meditate
or chomp away on fruit from the bush

Ignoring me all the while
