Canopy of Leaves

The canopy of shivering leaves
danced the light across her face

Waking up dreams of soft spring days
followed by warm summer nights
each magical in their own way

On their own day
one moment at a time…

Sliding Raindrops

Raindrop slides along side
new bud budding slow
Bare branches soak it in
moisture fat and drippy
• • • •
Contemplating silence
in the midst of drips
and drops and gurgles
Whets imagination
Wets the dry earth

One Day Closer

Little squirrel
was movin’ slow

It was winter
don’tcha know?

Mornin’ sun
called out to him

Look, look squirrel
a new day closer to Spring!

Happy Imbolc!

The Rains Came

It was dry and brown
cold to the bones chilled

Everyone chapped and uneasy

And then the rains came

The plants perked up
even amidst grey and soggy
Trees flexed with wintry breezes

Squirrels bundled up

in fluffed up fur

 And old dried tears

were washed away
when the rains came…

Falling on Tasty Color

Made of overt color
capable of startling nourishment
through the retina

Banging on the door
of ability to perceive
It literally rocked stable concepts
with inexplicable aplomb
and a spattering of stutters
in shades of gray
——————–

Fed until staggering
by colors and hues
so vibrant, so thick

The taste of them
makes my cheeks curl

Ah, abundance of Autumn!
