A Lightening

She went there to contemplate
and heal her aching longing
to the grove of inspiration
where nimble squirrels played
A world of responsibility and ignorance
Pressed upon sagging shoulders
As she entered the dappled space
sitting amongst the flowers and butterflies
like some Grade B children’s movie
With stern determination
To be light and playful
With her sword of honest reflection
The dichotomy of intentions
Balloons weighted
Until  a cutting of the strings
With focus and whispers
From the Eternity of the moment

Playing Small

The tabby was a big fat cat
who commanded attention
by his very presence

Yet, he thought of himself
as still a little guy

He would hide under the easy chair
where only his head fit

He was convinced
his backside was invisible
as it stuck out for all to see

Sometimes, others just don’t see us
the way we see ourselves
in our playing big or small

Cavorting

Like cavorting dolphins
they flowed through life
seemingly carefree

With unabashed abandon
poking at turtles
and elbowing whales
…………………………………………

Exuberance abounds
in my heart of hearts

When we allow our little kids
from the inside into outside
to cavort and play

Peace Time

This image started out as a photo of a watercolor I did several years ago (For sale on Etsy), which I built upon in Photoshop, and then added texture layers and other treatments. One of the things about the image a day project is that I get to play more in Photoshop, and I am really enjoying that. Another thing is that I am creating many textures and brushes from scratch (this one was not one of those, however).  There is so very much to be done with those.  Finally, of course, I love my tea! And even more, I love peace. In.  My. Heart. In. My. World. TEA. PEACE.

Playing more with layers today, and a bunch of new brushes I created out of old rubber stamps that I carved back in the day that I discovered I could make them out of erasers. Wow! That was a day of discovery. Discovering that I could create my own brushes in Photoshop was a day like that too. Today was just a moment of play (not to downplay the value of that).
