The harvesting was complete
For the day
So they put their supplies
And implements away
In a flurry of “see ya’ laters”
As he stepped into the quiet
Of his peaceful mind
The magnificent sunset
Caught his breath
In it’s splendor
An orchestra of justice
Nature’s rhythms awoke
Played themes of peace
and incomprehensible hope
in lilting tones of possibility
“How could that be,” one wonders
“without control and argument?”
‘Tis simply natural law
as life flows with ease
and rushing grace
Through crags of challenge
and boulders of resistance
All times past have gathered now
With naught but troubled mind
To whisper judgements on the now
while paths of heart we find
Seeking peace and joy and love
each day in stillness flight
And knowing brightness of the day
throughout the darkness of night
Like the tender unfolding
of each petal delicate
The victory of gratitude
declared my heart
a blessed zone of peace
Awakening
one thanks at a time

My tears of happy
slip like rivers
down my cheeks
