Expectant Dawn
Right before dawn
there is an expectancy
Sung cheerfully
through every beak
Felt hopefully
in every leaf
just after that darkest part
New day dawning
new beginning begun
Sunrise of Life
Seldom seen and often heard
My heart’s dreams
rose up like daffodils
at the sunrise of my life
It was ever surprising
on this most auspicious day
in a very ordinary kind of way
A once-in-a-lifetime occurrance
