That little bug
The one I’d never seen before
With his iridescent wings
And that smiley marking
On his little shoulder
Just walked into my salad
Is it still safe to eat…?
(sans the buggy protein of course)

On the bank of the wide old river
where the elderberry and mugwort
wave to each other in the breezes
A plodding turtle family
came upon a band of musical crickets
prepping up for an evening concert
Suddenly
with verve
Happy turtles…

Babies are babies
no matter what animal
And the cuteness factor
quadruples the chances
for adults to emerge
The innocence of beginner’s mind
is open and attractive
And the pristine thought patterns
