traffic
one car halted
to let her pass
others followed suit
each step honored
elder wisdom

it was never the same

By the edge of the pond
the little deck extends
as if a launch point
for travel into the depths
inner landscape awaits
The buzzing and plopping,
gurgling and flapping
provide a peaceful silence
of the Soul
on any day’s reflection
Spring Garden
In the garden, early spring
on a mound of rich soil
sat a little plant

From delicate tendril green
to bushy and strong
the heart of the garden grows
in cadence of heartbeat
bees buzz and birds
dance on happy wings
beauty and vegetables
nourish my soul
Dandelions
The roar of the dandy lion
a mighty fairy wind
tiny parachutes loosed
persistent warriors
causing bile to rise
from buried strongholds
Life’s tonics arise
cheerful yellow disguise
before deployment
we cursed China’s allies
yet they guard our fortress
equally vigilant
Ravens
Real rainbows race
across the sky ethereal
Raucous ravens raise
the sky roof on wings
and peck through
illusion with beaks
of gold
