Spring sprang
into summer this year
without a hitch
Soft summer nights
bolted after late rains
Edges of seasons blended
in a variety of ways
Keeping us ever surprised
a benefit of conscious living

In that lodge of the heart
where all my relations dwell
where spirits pause
to pray, to sing, to honor
there in the womb
of our common mother
wells up true humanity,
there I am cleansed
of the lesser, as I give
a piece of me
in earnest effort

Here in the circle within
circles, he weaves each one,
nosing his way through,
the sacred songs boost him,
keep alive the spiral dance
sending him with prayers
and entreaties on his journey…
The bear heads for his long sleep
Dream, dream again,
another vision, oh brother
