Light of Night
Gratitudes Grace
A sentinel of heart’s rejoicing
gratitude rang true
in all of my consciousness
Every ember of life’s passion
flamed bright
in the breezes caused
by fresh thoughts and epiphanies
Riding on the heels
of thankfulness
Blessings abound
Prosperity of the Soul
More than enough
everything filled
overflowing
joy, peace, love
bliss even
ever running over
abundance of spirit
prosperity of the soul

for all
Encounter of the Bear Kind
In the light of the quarter moon
as stars snuggled
in the crisp velvet sky
yet again, I encountered
the big black dog
from across the way
Prickly pines leaned in to hear
what I would say
“Go home, Smokey” was all
the bear turned slowly
grunted and lumbered away
Left standing breathless
Bear blessing
Deer Blessing
On a foggy night
in city gray
sadness poking at the flame
of hope in my heart
Aloneness wrapped about
shoulders like a heavy cloak
headlights discovered
four-legged figures
milling about
in my driveway
they would not move,
so I eased in amongst them
Deer blessing (until they shuffled off)
