Harvesting the fruit

in the autumn of our lives

Awakening together

at dawn or the middle of the day

We go along our separate paths

gathering the rich bounty

with arms open wide

sweet, juicy, lovely

We return home together again

surrounded and nurtured

by life’s, love’s Grace…

Arced high above their heads
like a rainbow bridge of hope and joy

The aura of their love
vibrated the air with
the strong energy
of their friendship and commitment…

You’re my best friend —
Call my heart your home,
So I picked up this pen
To write you a poem

Thought it may seem silly
With rhyme and things

Wanted you to know how much joy
You, in my life, brings

We ride the tides

big waves and eddies

You and I best friends

through it all

You up, me down and the other way

a great connection

silent listening, hand extends

shouting or singing

You can count on me

even in the dark

And I know you are there

even with my eyes closed
