May Bridge
May blooms
as a bridge
Between winter’s grey
and summer’s crowning
May this May
bloom in your Spirit…
May blooms
as a bridge
Between winter’s grey
and summer’s crowning
May this May
bloom in your Spirit…
There is a valley verdant and pristine
between here and there
The road dips round and through it
as I’m travelling somewhere
Meadows of flowers, grasses and bush
shades of green never seen elsewhere
beneath short wooded mountains
and dynamic blue skies
Beauty that takes the breath…
I saw a double rainbow there
once upon a trip through
and only lingered in my mind
to absorb its beauty
as I sped by in my car
Upon the end of winter’s nod and blink
buds of purple, plum and pink
appeared and opened to share fragrance
Sweet enough to match the beauty
more intense than one would think
Like lotus floating in the air
tulip blossoms suddenly there
On the tree that sat with knobby twig
through winter’s short days
cold, rain, or fair
Spring awaits no clock or human
just blossoms forth when it can
Soaring above
the little busy activity
He felt his heart expand
with the deep recognition
of the sheer magnificence
and awesome beauty
Of it all…
Sometimes once….
Just isn’t good enough
As beauteous and wonderful
as it may well be
Or, perhaps, it reflects
lavish playfulness
Either way
the multitude of birds
in the almond trees…
or the blanket of daffodils
on the side of the road…
Feasts for my eyes
and heart with awe
