Nature’s Gifts

Barefeet cuddled and softly cushioned
by mounds of wooly thyme
Sweet jasmine curls around the nose
on soft perfumed breezes climb
That was then and this is now
the leaves all oranges and reds
And mums bright bouquets
with sharper smell
show off their fancy heads
Spring or fall, it matters not
summer or winter, too
Nature’s gifts are here for us
so just take off your shoes

Spellbound

Spellbound
mouth gaping in awe
We gazed at the beauty
with hearts aching…
from expansion
There on the lip
of complete comprehension
There where tears burst forth
in appreciation
Love and gratitude held us tight
in a grip ecstatic
as our spirits danced on Light

Still Leaves

Quivering leaves
hold still when I look
Cacophony of green
in patient waiting
for another breeze
So still,so quiet
midst the myriad sounds
Birds being birds
and squirrels playing tag
And people bustling
self-centeredly
With no time to notice
the beauty and calm

Waiting for Dawn

Near the oak on the hillside
on the bench I found up there

I sit to watch the sunrise
as breezes curl my hair

The darkest before dawn
and stillness touched by steps
as I journeyed up the hill

Now the birds and I wait
a lifetime in anticipation

Deep blue to purple, pink to pale blue
and the brightness of the sun
awakens the thrill of another day…

Face of the Divine

And so, the one reflects the other
in essence, if not circumstance
bound by threads of common theme
and modes of seeking truth
—————————————–
I saw there
in the perfect light
your face in all

A visage of Divine
uncompromising beauty
