Magnolia Spring

Magnolia Spring

Just Past Imbolc

I’m always ready for the blossoming, yet  shy away from the pain of the cracking open bud.   Springs promise reminds me that only when I welcome the remaining sharp edges does the crispy new invite my participation.

Keep the Faith

He was one hum-dinger
and so was his song
And the winged one flew by
silently in truth
knowing there was nothing wrong
“Keep the faith,” the birdie said
as ice fogged morning sprung to life
with every crisp footfall
And, he was aware, not afraid
in the quiet hours
of his early morning moment

I Am Awake

Ever notice
how much more awake
you are, upon awakening —
Rather like waking up!
The snake,
she woke up one day
Raising up to
the full height of her spine
“Ah, I am awake,”

she hissed peacefully

Fortunate Folly

Fortunate folly:
She tripped on her thoughts
fell into a pile of epiphanies
and awoke into enlightenment

“Aha!”

One time is all it takes
to awaken to enlightenment

After that, one can only nap
no more going
completely unconscious

Winter Morning Early

Winter Morning Early

Sun peeked through
ivy and bare tree branches
singing a bright and cheerful note
After all these days of grey
rose up stretching
awakening senses
Which had been asleep,
it seems, for days and days
Winter morning early
kisses my forehead
and invites me out to play
