Song of Life

He sang with all his heart

All his body, all his soul
resonating even in his toes

He sang his life for his life
for connection to the One
It is all, it is ALL

Beautiful, disparate, life
filled with grief and joy
pain and ecstasy

Every note dedicated
committed, filled with longing

He sang with all his heart…

End of the Road

On the edge of the wilderness
at the end of the road
where the creek burbles sweetly
and the bear occassions by

We gather our water
rinse the dust from our faces
nap on a rock in the sun
while new leaves and old needles
dapple the light around us

Light breezes ruffle red dirt
lizards wake and scramble
and birds sing to us all the while

Nature’s Glory

Once, there was a little boy
who climbed to the top
of a tree and leaned on the wind

He was exalted
in the midst of Nature
——————————
Now, as a grown man
he still feels the glory of it!

Seedlings

Seedlings
spring forth
with new life
Delicate and tender shoots
stronger than muscle men
As they burst through
the hull and leap up
to greet the sun

Catching the Breeze

Living on mountain tops
or frolicking on rooftops
Humans can catch
the breezes in their hair
More alive simply
because of placement
Ah, but the real trick
is catching the breezes
in the stillness of the quiet valleys
