The shadow of you
fixing your lunch
and all the morning ritual
As it was reflected
on the sun dappled window
shifting with the breezes
as they tickle the leaves
That shadow looked just like squirrel
wiggling his spunky tail
and standing on tippy toe
on the top board of the fence
Until I noticed the striped shirt…
Coyote once came sneaking around
sniffin’ a bit all about town
with a wink and a nod
prepared to get down
Sneaky, persistent, and loyal, too
Coyote knew what Coyote knew
and his tail waving high
fooling more than few
As the sun prepared to leave the sky
Coyote, well fed, looked in my eye
leaned back head and let loose
like a stylish young girl, his vivacious cry
Emotive nonsense
tickles my fancy
so, I do a little dancy
waving my arms
You can be silly
and play willy nilly
while the full moon plots
to whisper sweet nothings
The pool is full
and it’s spilling over
Oh, we’re silliness lovers
and that grape got away!
Oops! A change!
It happens without warning sometimes….
Like the bud popping open
the moment of conception
or the flash of epiphany
Change. Happens.
Oh, what a glorious ride
(Life = Change)
Flowing along
in the eternal
now moment of change
When in the depths
of the darkest night
it can be so hard
to remember the light
Yet the fact is
we need only turnaround
like the spinning earth
to receive the blessing
The truth is it is all of God
it is all light
We only choose to pretend
that we can play hide and seek
