There’s no need, dear heart
to stomp and storm
Nor declare loudly
your willingness to listen
Simply crack the door open
–that is all that’s necessary–
the light will flood through
Crack the door open
hear the symphony
in the silence
See the glorious light
throughout the dark
Seldom seen and often heard
My heart’s dreams
rose up like daffodils
at the sunrise of my life
It was ever surprising
on this most auspicious day
in a very ordinary kind of way
A once-in-a-lifetime occurrance
each new day
Huzzah!
A rusty moon, full
creeping up
With puckered brow
and larger than usual
——————————-
We’ve all observed
one time or another
That intimate sight
and marvelled at the beauty
with shallowed breath
Moonrise
This time of year
the wild turkeys come to town
Gathered round
on lawns and in parking lots
Just being friendly
in a turkey kind of way
Look! There goes a flock now…
Did someone tell them
We’re not allowed to hunt in town?
Gobble, gobble…
Filled with the knowing of it
and surrounded by the love
He rested peacefully in the silence
and listened with a smile on him
————————————————
Just so — the symphony of his life
the full-bodied flavor rich
intense expression of his highest self
Was borne upon the instruments
and born of the Spirit of him
as he guest-conducted his life work
———————————————–
All the while, his life worked…
