Speckling through leaves
Sun tapped Morse code
on consciousness
Leaves danced all the while
with some kind of gentle fervor
Continuous and random gliding
through the wind
And acted as if
it were the other way around
Warmth in Light's passing
“How are we doing?” asked Mother Bear
seemingly so concerned with what Rabbit thought
“I’m afraid we’re short,” replied Rabbit
“Speak for yourself!” said Mother Bear
as she stood up and stretched to her full 7′
shaking off her lapse of self-assuredness
like raindrops in the sunlight
“Oooh – Sparkly!” said Rabbit
forgetting the whole conversation
Barefoot
the two walked
hand in hand, along the shore
A nostalgic picture
of simple romance
Yet secretly, separately
they dreamed of playing frisbee
Of splashing, running
hair blowing
Walking on the fence
all jiggy with the up and down
of the dog-eared boards
Little squirrel, the acrobat
his tail flickering for balance
Who needs an umbrella
when you've got a tail?
What conflicted decision
when you're just a happy squirrel?
She danced awake the stars
lifting her veil with panache
Dramatic undertones apparent
to even the passerby
As she twirled into light
the fiber of her universe
Colored past lines
of false limitations
Yet grounded in reality
of impossible made likely
in the flash of her jewels
