Spring’s Breath

Spring’s Breath

When in the garden fallow
Twig and leaf are dead

It’s time to cut and trim, dig and prod
Preparing for the lovely breath of Spring

In the winter of my memories
Where feelings lay unsaid
And frosty numbness veils

Life within, still seeking
Is poked and tethered dead
With sharp and pointed emotions

Let’s trim away, instead
The rot, the used and spent
For our spirit’s Spring
Once again to joyously blossom
Repeat

Repeat

repeat
repeat
repeat

once again like clockwork
another reiteration
the tulip magnolia bloomed
a surprise attack in pinks
glorious magnificence
as radiant sumptuousness

wind blew
grey sky blustered
gusts lifted and twirled

thus spring
repeats
resplendent prequel

La-Dee-Dah!

La-Dee-Dah!

“I rest my life upon the sure foundation…”

In thought and word and deed
she emulates that which
lights her spirit

She embodies that which
enlightens mine

A center for expression of good
beautiful and creative
eternal and victorious

Wisdom pouring out
splashing and splattering
with verve
upon a parched
a thirsty ground
as though its’ source
is limitless

And, so, it is,
and so, she says,
“La-dee-dah!”

God Box

God Box

I have a little nest
a woven bed of God thoughts
accompanied
by the song of my heart

prayers, releases
requests for clarity
clear guidance

all within the fancy house
a jeweled abode
carved by the story
of my life

New Prayer

New Prayer

today
my prayers changed

palpable
incredibly
believable

awoke
my sense
of wonder
my faith

opened
new vistas
panoramas
a new path

Humbled

Humbled

Humbled

She invited me
into her heart, her home…
the center of her life.

There, the loveliness
of her elder spirit, quite
rooted in the Joy of her
exuberant little girl,
shown in quiet simplicity
through every detail.

Humbled, I am, by her
solid brilliance.
