Friends

Friends once met
trod upon the new found path
stepped light and joyous
twinkly

Frolicked as young animals
thoughts bantered about
 mutual synapses made

Years and years following
weighed lofty, stark, or frequent
 familiarity springs deeper

Appearances only gently hide
the depths of love
intricacies of
our friendship eternal

Mental Vacation

Fraught with naught
but stellar ideas
and pontifications
Plied and tied
with arguments
of amusement
They bandied about
a bantered topic without
any need for conclusion
Merely a romp in their minds

Friends of the Past

Friends
Far off in time or space
soften my heart still
With friendship’s grace
without uttering a word
nor treading my step
I can conjure their faces
and love them fully
with no contact ever
I will carry them always
