Joyous Determination

Forever so long
little spider
had been cleaning up
the ravages of every storm

Rebuilding, re-grounding, re-attaching
with joyous determination

Today, she decided
she would change the design
and moved a full 6 inches
to the right

Ah! How spiffy,
how exciting
what ingeniousness!

Let creativity flow!

Orchestra of Justice

An orchestra of justice
Nature’s rhythms awoke

Played themes of peace
and incomprehensible hope
in lilting tones of possibility

“How could that be,” one wonders
“without control and argument?”

‘Tis simply natural law
as life flows with ease
and rushing grace

Through crags of challenge
and boulders of resistance

Gettin’ Busy

Where, oh where, were you tonight?

Why was I working all by myself?
I had to fix dinner and get to a meeting
I made a mess, dear, and phht I was gone…
• • • •
Sometimes, when I get busy
It may seem that my consciousness
Does not include the home environment
Or surroundings or my close relationships

Yet, my heart is always filled
With loving appreciation and gratitude
for those closest to me

Life’s Memorial

Memories stacked
pearls and gems

Stones and clods
all jumbled together

To pick and sort—
the work of the elder

String necklaces of beauty
rich and deep
plant daisies in the fodder

Broad Vista

Once atop the perch

at the peak of his life

He could see

the broad vista before him

He was ready to soar…

Who’s Counting?

So many years and a day
and, Yes!
Yes, he was counting
For each day is precious
especially awake
Awake, alive
recovering life!
Ah, every moment
has cause for celebration!
